Informatica Cloud

Software

Design

Clean, sober, and to the point, this easily navigated site embodies the "less is more" approach. The design challenge here was to work within the parent company aesthetic yet stand out as a markedly different offering. This was done with attractive flash movies, tiles, and icons throughout.

Code

Joomla platform with flexible XHTML/CSS template and several custom code modules written in PHP. MooTools JavaScript animation in the right column. Joomla template overrides were coded to enforce pure tableless layouts. One of the Joomla modules written for this site integrates with Salesforce via a custom user interface. This easy to use interface sets what fields visitors are asked to fill out and how to record the data within Salesforce, for different types of marketing efforts.

Flash

Dynamic Flash objects in as3 load images as they are needed, making for a very fast initial load. The theme of the cloud was repeated and inscribed in a modern, very web-friendly look and feel.

TuneUp Media

Software

Flash

Ongoing multilevel advertising campaigns with Flash ads, including ActionScript graphic programming, standard banner dimensions resizing, and clickTags.

SW Logistics

Transportation

Design

The aesthetics of this transportation site were designed to convey the company's efforts to embrace modern efficiency while retaining an image of reliability with its existing customer base. The result is bold and sober, but also red and dynamic, with a kinetic energy well suited to the pace of the import/export business.

Code

Joomla platform with flexible XHTML/CSS template and a custom code module written in PHP to perform nightly HTTP requests and reformat the resulting streams for insertion into the Joomla news article database. MooTools JavaScript animation in the right column. Joomla template overrides were coded to enforce pure tableless layouts.

Bold color, strong modern lines, commands a confident and dynamic presence.

Flash

The Flash sequence for this site was made to refocus the attention on the visitors themselves, and draw attention to the business growth they experience when their transportation company excels. The captions are read serially but the larger verbs that appear first (Extend/Scale/Accelerate) also string together nicely to describe the success of both the company, and its customers.

Cape Clear Software

(Now Workday) - Software

Design

This project encompassed a complete company-wide rebranding, starting with a logo and corporate website, and permeating throughout all collateral and marketing efforts. The main theme, achieved in a basically duochrome palette, is an original look which conveys both dynamicism and reliability.

Code

Site built with XHTML/CSS and Javascript for the front end, PHP/MySQL on the backend. Custom SOAP objects were written to provide Salesforce integration beyond what is usually available. News publication & developer blogs, with RSS syndication, were implemented.

Dynamic lines, strong color contrast, rejuvenates company theme of a cape (promontory).

Flash

Elegant corporate credibility home page billboard made in Flash, with segments of the movie speaking to each of the company's four identified target audiences.

Bay Area Monitor

NGO / Press

Design

This project aesthetic aimed at echoing the style of the print publication it represents, yet mark it as distinctly modern, and web-based. The resulting presence is unobtrusive, light, yet elegant. The publication's relationship to its parent organization, the League of Women Voters, is indicated by its logo. Shades of this logo's blue served as a palette for the site, with a supporting green from the League's own secondary colors.

Code

Joomla site with excellent newsletter subscription and list management. Template overrides were used to ensure complete tableless w3c standard layouts. News publication with RSS syndication.

Flash

Simle but elegant Fash movie highlighting the publication's main areas of advocacy.

Telethra

Software

Design

This site was made to showcase the benefits of the commercial implementation of a widely used open-source codebase. For that reason, a sleek, modern, and credible look was paramount to back up the project's pitch that spending a little on the commercial license would pay off greatly in reduced IT staffing and infrastructure costs.

Code

Company site made on a Joomla platform with XHTML/CSS template. Joomla template overrides were coded to enforce pure tableless layouts. For the company's software server product, UI coding in XHTML/CSS, MooTools Javascript, and PHP. This included using PEAR libraries to fetch XML data, restructure it with DOM manipulation objects, and display it within the UI.

Flash

Through its 4 segments, this Flash home page movie gradually shifts from the established success of the existing open-source codebase to the ease of use of the commercial implementation. It ends on a peaceful view of a bamboo forest, in which a man with a laptop is assumably connected to a private network via the VXN product.
